As an army, navy, marine, air force, and coast guard weapon, the Colt 1911 and Colt 1911A1 was used by numerous service branches until replaced by the Beretta M9 in 1950.

US troops in battle developed a loyal following for the .45 ACP round in 1911. This pistol was sturdy, reliable, and fired 230-grain round nose bullets at around 800 feet per second with its hard-hitting 45 ACP round.

American heroes such as Alvin York and others, who valued its power, used it with distinction. They were carried by foot soldiers coupled with their M1 Garand and M1 Carbines during World War II. Many of them relied on it during combat situations, and it saved their lives.

Gun enthusiasts, military personnel, and law enforcement officers have wholly embraced the 1911 pistol. People still love and adore this hard-hitting pistol because it is all-around good. This is an American classic.

History Of M1911

A little background first. At the end of the nineteenth century, the US military was enjoying excellent success with their .45 caliber revolvers, but they wanted something more modern.

However, they found that the .38 caliber revolver was less effective than the double-action .38 caliber revolver. The sidearm once again needed to be replaced. The semi-automatic action with a detachable magazine was fairly new, though a return to the .45 caliber was desirable.

His design was submitted by John Moses Browning, perhaps the greatest gun designer in history. In 1911 the Model 1911 was adopted, with the addition of a grip safety, due to an arduous design competition and rest period.

So, Why Is It Popular?

Since 1911 is more popular in the United States than it is internationally, I am speaking from an American perspective. As far as “widely used” goes, the 1911 was only used in two countries military-wise.

In addition to the military pistols mentioned above, many other pistols were used widely by the military. In fairness, the US, with its vast military and a high number of pistols, was one of those countries that adopted the M1911.

As far as the US is concerned, there is no question. With them, we went through four major wars. Due to their experience, many people trusted the designs because they had used them before.

Furthermore, after WWII, the US was geared up to produce them in mass quantities. Manufacturing them could be continued using existing machinery. This resulted in the pistols being relatively cheap in comparison to the tools needed to create a new pistol. Because of this, the 1911 platform continues to be used today.

Why the 1911 is still popular today

1. It’s a big one, and we like big things.
2. It is a magazine-fed gun. Despite being common now, this technology was new at the time.
3. It is semi-automatic. Again, now common, then radical.
4. With its large caliber and long history, the .45 has a lot to offer. There are other calibers available now, but .45ACP remains its most prominent choice.
5. Even though the .45 ACP recoils a little, it has a smooth impulse rather than being whippy. It is also easily controllable.
6. .45 caliber bullets make huge holes in targets and smize bowling pins with authority. It’s satisfying.
7. This is a reliable gun.
8. The 1911 can achieve a high degree of accuracy.
9. A steel frame, or sometimes an alloy frame, is used in these guns. This makes its weight substantial, and its weight makes it easier to control when firing quickly, which helps achieve accuracy more easily.
10. It has proven to be effective.
11. It can be easily cleaned by field stripping. A detailed strip is less convenient (though admittedly less friendly).

The definition of beauty is subjective, but I find this stunning and extremely purposeful. The M1911 is ergonomic.

I think it is perfect in this regard, and many people think the same or at least think that it is very good. There will never be a size that fits all, but the M1911 comes close.

It was adopted as a military weapon by the United States. As a result, it is considered credible and was familiar to many members of the military. The US military used it for decades and still uses it today.

Apart from its excellent ergonomics, the handle also points naturally because of its grip angle.

It’s easy to use and has well-placed controls. Even today, there are few that can compete. The slim design and good handling enable it to operate well in spite of its size.

Saving The Best For Last…

The trigger has a straight-back design, which is an absolute joy and can be customized to any taste. As a trigger snob, I consider the M1911 to be the Gold Standard of semi-automatics.

The M1911 is now over 100 years old. Even though it’s not the newest, it’s still among the best. As with its older sibling, it’s a gun that just keeps going. The year 1911 has seen many trends come and go. Yet here we are. Despite being incredibly popular, the sidearm is still performing the function for which it was designed.

Personal Opinion

It goes in phases. It was adopted at the turn of the century because it was a very good, dependable semi-auto pistol design at a time when there were few. The design proved successful in WWI, so it made the cut for mass production the following time.

Since the government had more 1911s than it knew what to do with after the Second World War, and since armies aren’t really concerned with pistols, it kept issuing WWII 1911s for the next forty years just for convenience. Those pistols continued to be used until the 80s when their shells became too damaged to be used anymore.

Since people are always interested in army guns, they continued shooting and collecting them during that whole period. High school students buy soccer cleats from NFL players for the same reason.

Final Words

One thing is for sure; the M1911 will never go away; it’s got one of the smoothest triggers ever made and one of the smoothest, most accurate handguns. However, it’s just not trendy in an era of tactical right now. Be safe, train often, and be consistent no matter which firearm you choose.

For Elementary-School Aged Kids

The Philadelphia Kids’ Hospital reports that there are nearly as many firearms in circulation within the U.S. as there are people. Chances are, you also have a safety handgun at home. But is your kid protected from it?

Be Frank With Your Children

Sit down with your kid and talk about it frankly. Don’t be secretive, be frank. They will eventually know you have a gun anyway, and if you try to hide from them, they will follow you and also try to hide facts from you.

Talk to them about guns, why they are dangerous, and why your kids should not touch a gun if they ever come close.When you are frank and collaborative, they are more likely to follow suit. That’s the best approach for kids at the elementary level.

What If You Don’t Have A Gun?

There’s another aspect to this. Say you don’t have a handgun at home; does that mean your children are secured? The Philadelphia reports signify that all children are likely to come in contact with a gun sooner or later in childhood.

A major issue is, children tend to believe what they see in media, and to be fair, I can’t blame them if the media romanticizes them. Media presents most news and especially movies in such a way that naturally makes the children fantasize about guns and the actions associated with it.

Children of this age like to believe they are grown up and can take responsibilities. This belief leads them to take actions way beyond their capabilities.

So, parents need to be extra vigilant about the well-being of their children, their physical and mental health. You, as a parent, should be aware of their friend circle and the people they come in touch with.

If you own a gun, the best way to protect your children is to keep your gun unloaded and out of their reach at all times.

As long as your children trust you and talk to you frankly about things, you should be okay with it. Even if some things go wrong, you should be able to pick them up from them and take necessary action.

For High-School Kids

High school kids are vulnerable to taking dangerous and impulsive behavior, and guns can play a tragic role, especially in suicide attempts. 75% of attempts that involve a gun occurs with a gun stored in the house.

So even as children get older, parents with firearms at home need to ensure they’re impossible for kids to access on their own.Also, parents should keep the conversation active with kids about their friends, asking questions like “Do any of your friend’s family own a gun or can they access a gun?”

It is also an important and good way for parents to remain in touch with kids. Parents should understand their feelings to determine the situation and keep them out of danger all through adolescence.

High school kids are often courageous and commit hard to what they think is right. They are also very emotional and sensitive.

Keep all these in mind when talking to them, especially if you have a gun at home. Even if you don’t, be aware that getting things is much easier for a kid of this age. So, be careful and pay attention to what they do and say.

• Make it a part of the safety conversation you normally have with your kids. Maintain the language simple.
• For example: “When you see a gun, don’t touch it. Inform an adult immediately.” Even if it seems like a toy, they should not take the initiative to approach it. Make it clear that they won’t get in trouble if they inform an adult that they’ve seen a gun.
• In addition to guns, include subjects like drugs, alcohol, and drunk driving in regular safety conversation. Tell them to leave any place right away if they see an unsecured gun unless supervised by proper authority because one thing can very easily lead to another.
• Don’t have the conversation once and call it done. Discuss with them frequently, just as you would about different crucial issues of safety. Be sure that they understand that any situation where there’s an unsupervised gun is a harmful situation.
• As I mentioned before, be frank and vigilant. You don’t need to be secretive or present it to them as a taboo or something. That could trigger their interest instead. So, during the conversation, be frank and friendly. Ask them what they think.
• You don’t have to share all the ins and outs with your children if they are underage for it. But discuss enough to give them the sense of right and wrong that is appropriate for the age.
• Be careful of what you are saying and how you are expressing it. You don’t want your children to be scared of it.

Remember, there are nearly as many guns in the United States as people? So, it’s a matter of time before they come in contact with one. And you don’t want them to freak out when it happens.

Conclusions

It is important to keep in mind that talking to youngsters about guns is a precaution, not a guarantee of safety. One research discovered that young children who go through a week-long gun safety training are just as vulnerable as children with no training.

In the event of a home invasion, having a weapon available in any room is crucial to securing your home and protecting your family.  If you have more than one weapon, you should keep at least one on each floor. In my opinion, this is the best way to stage your weapons.

Do not make it obvious where to put them. Also, keep them somewhere only you can find them. You do not want the intruder to find your firearm in case they aren’t armed. Also, put them in somewhat of a trail to your safe room.

In this article, I’m going to show you a couple of different options for staging your guns for home defense. There are a lot of options, and if you have multiple firearms, you might even be able to keep guns for home defense in multiple places in your home.

Places To Keep Gun For Home Defense

The consideration for your emergency plan, your tactics, and even for the viability of being able to use the firearm all revolve around you thinking about the layout of your home, the likely movement of an attacker, and the likely places that you are going to be.

So, we are going to go and look at a bunch of places/options inside a typical house. Let’s start off with the most commonplace.

1. In The Kitchen

Now, if someone comes in through the entryway or if they force their way in, regardless of where you are at the time that happened, and that may very well be the kitchen. Of course, we know that a lot of people in the kitchen because this is a very common area.

So, the entryway would be the first corner where you would engage the intruder or become aware of that person. Or, if you are hiding from the person, the first place where you should keep a quick access portable gun safe is in the kitchen drawer.

This will allow you to quickly grab your handgun while also being alert about the intruder. You can continue to move away or defend yourself if you need to.

2. In a Drawer

Put the gun back in the safe for a moment. Let’s first and foremost talk about one important consideration of storing a firearm in the home. Are you going to keep it secured? Are you going to keep it in a compact budget friendly gun safe?

4. In The Bedroom

What is the best way to conceal a safe? Safes that are designed to be hidden are usually called concealed safes. Two of the best examples of that are wall and floor safes.

Besides those, there are also aftermarket products that conceal safes. So, what is the best way to hide a safe in your house? In this article, we are going to take a look at that.

Just to clarify a few things, I will not be covering floor safes and wall safes. There will be a separate article on that. However, I will be covering small handgun safes as well as other small safes that you can easily hide in your house.

We’re going to be talking about small nightstand gun safes that are inexpensive. Most of the gun safes that I’m talking about will be under 300 bucks.

The Laundry Room

Your laundry room is a room in the house that never gets tossed. However, it’s not my favorite place. I’m saving that for the end, but this is my second favorite place. So, laundry rooms have cabinets you can put small safes in.

Sometimes you got base cabinets you can put small safes in. So, they’re ideal when you want to hide a small safe. You can also secure them to the back of the cabinet as well as on the floor of the cabinet.

There’s one other place to hide a safe that’s actually in this laundry room that I haven’t talked about. And that’s underneath the sink. If you can get a safe to fit underneath the sink, you’re golden. Nobody looks underneath the sink.

If you got a small safe, you could go under the kitchen sink; you could go under a bathroom sink or go under the utility room sink. Just don’t put it in the master bathroom.

My Favorite Place In A Home To Hide A Safe

Now I’m going to show you my absolute favorite place in a home to hide a safe. And that is the pantry. Talk to your friends, talk to your neighbors, talk to anybody you know who’s ever been robbed; nobody’s ever told you “they tossed the pantry,” right?

That is because there aren’t a lot of valuables in a pantry. So, when a burglar has got six to ten minutes, he’s not coming in here and tossing the pantry.

Most pantry doors open out, so it’s not ideal for a safe to be placed inside. However, if you are lucky and the door to your pantry opens on the inside, you can actually place the safe behind the door.

The door will act as an extra barrier to hide that safe, so if you have a pantry whose door swings inward, you’re in an ideal situation. And that is my number one place to hide a safe in a house.

And if your pantry store opens out like this, you’re not totally lost because there’s still lots of stuff in the pantry that you can conceal a safe with.

The size of the safe you can get in the pantry is going to depend a lot on your shelving configuration, but you can normally put a decent size small safe in the pantry.

Stick a couple of things in front of it just to keep it hidden from most prying eyes and anybody that’s a smash and grabber in your home.

Places You Don’t Want To Hide Your Safe

Now, let’s talk about the one room in the house you never want to put a small safe like that, and that is the master bedroom. Also, in your master bathroom and master closet, you don’t want to store little safes in these locations.

FBI burglar statistics show that in most home robberies, the burglar is only in the house for eight to ten minutes. So where do you think they are going to go?

The very first place they’re going to go is the master bedroom and in the master bedroom closet. Because they know that that’s the highest rate of return, if they go in there, they can find jewelry, they can find money, they can find handguns, they can find anything you have stored in there very quickly.

So, whatever you do, do not put little safes in the master bedroom!

Now, the good news is that you can store the ammunition for a long time if you know how to store it properly. In this article, I’m going to talk about long-term ammo & gun storage as well some tips and tricks, do’s and don’ts, and why’s and how’s.

The Do’s & Don’ts of Ammo Storage

First of all, let me tell you what you don’t want to do. The most common thing gun owners tend to do is take the box of ammo and stick them on the shelf.

Don’ts of Ammo Storage

Don’t put your box of ammo in the basement or in the attic. Also, don’t put them on the floor or in the garage. Also, don’t store your ammunition in the cardboard factory boxes in the basement.

Remember: Proper storage is what is going to save the ammo.

If you are not storing them properly, you are basically wasting all of the money. You don’t want the ammo to absorb moisture. If you don’t keep them properly stored, they will absorb moisture.

If that happens, the brass cases will corrode. The powders and primers will degrade quickly. Usually, sealed military ammunition can last quite a while in storage, but since ammunition isn’t cheap, why risk it?

Cardboard sucks in moisture, and even if the ammo doesn’t get in direct contact with any moisture, that can still damage and ruin them. The idea here is to keep things cool and dry.

Do’s of Ammo Storage

Keep ammunition in a cool, dry place that does not experience wide temperature swings. Primer and powder will be damaged as well by temperature cycling.

Place it in airtight containers to keep moisture out. Alternatively, you can use Tupperware, but be sure to get approval from your significant other before borrowing.

Silica packets absorb moisture; if you have any, make sure to use them. You know, the kind that comes with shoes and electronics. No matter how much time passes before you shoot, the ammo in your stash will go BANG if you follow these simple steps.

Dangers of Firing Corrode Ammos

Usually, sealed military ammo that have come in contact with moisture will still fire. Those military-type rounds are well-sealed and everything. However, with all the gunk that has built up on the ammo, it will look like garbage.

If you fire enough of these with gunk on them, you are going to experience failure on your extractor down the road. So, for good gun reliability, proper storage is essential.

Ammo Storage Tips

Now, if I were you, I would place my stockpile of ammo inside ammo cans. It’s as simple as dropping your rounds into an ammo can. Let me show you how.

1. First of all, let me clear some things first. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an ammo can. Any standard airtight container will work just fine.
2. That’s why I mentioned Tupperware. Anything that seals up like that, you can store your rounds in them. If you can keep food in it fresh, it will keep your ammo fresh.
3. You can easily put the standard factory box in there. Also, if you prefer to keep your magazines loaded, you can even store your magazines in the box.

Keeping The Ammo Box In A Climate Controlled Place

Once you place all your ammo in a tight airtight container or in an ammo can, the thing to do now is to put it somewhere where it’s climate controlled.

You will need to place the container in a place where it doesn’t get very hot or very cold. You don’t want up and down spikes. Especially up spikes, as they are very bad for your rounds.

The powder used to load ammunition, and the primer compound is a chemical compound that degrades over time if accelerated by heat. So, you are better off leaving it at room temperatures as close as you can keep it for as long as you can keep it that way.

Furthermore, you can even throw some silica gel in there as well. If you have got some of those packs laying around that came packed with your stereo gear or tools or whatever when you got them shipped, just pop those in the oven for a little bit on warm and dry them all the way out.

After that, pop them in there, and they’ll absorb any moisture that got trapped when you sealed that thing up. The other thing is don’t go opening it up and closing it once a day on hot, humid days.

So basically, the box is ready to just set it and forget it. At this point, you are good to go. And for your reloaders, the same goes for your primers. Put your primers on them.

That way, you don’t have to worry about them because they are vulnerable to moisture, much more so than loaded ammunition. Here, we’re just really worried about corrosion or something, but enough moisture can actually make your primers perform poorly or not at all.

Long Term Gun Storage: Tips & Tricks

Also, let’s not forget about gun storage. Most firearm owners invest a significant amount of money, time, and commitment in their weapons.

It only makes sense that we use our chosen tools for training and practice in order to become the best we can be.

The same is true for guns and ammo, which should be properly stored so they are always available whenever needed.

Preparing To Store Your Guns

I bet most of us associate gun storage with small gun safes.The safe provides ample security, as well as some protection against fire. Their storage method allows us to leave our arms in the same condition they went in…ready to serve our purposes no matter where the job takes us.

Have you ever come home from a hunting trip from or a day at the range and put your guns in the safe without cleaning them, then promised to clean them later or tomorrow?

Moreover, how many more tomorrows must pass before proper maintenance is actually done? There is never a day off for moisture and corrosion.

Make sure that your guns are properly cleaned with quality firearm lubricant. Most of us turn to Ballistol, Break Free CLP, or Hoppe’s No. 9 Gun Oil. 

Also, make sure the bore is well lubricated by running a swab through it. It is very easy for your guns to rust with sweaty, saline hands and fingerprints, so take a minute to wipe them down.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to properly lubricate and clean our guns at the bench if we are to be thorough. The exterior should be cleaned and lubricated with high-quality products. Afterward, lubricate it properlyby swabbing the bore with a clean cloth.

Cleaning the crane and the cylinder of a revolver is imperative before shooting it. Magazines are essential. Don’t forget them even more so if you’ve been practicing drills and reloading fast and letting them fall to the ground.

You should clean all the gunk and dirt out of the magazines before you put your life on the line.

It is important to dry, clean, and lubricate your rifle after hunting whitetails in wet weather. The bottom of the barrel and the action must be cleaned and lubricated at the end of the season. Using a quality cleaning kit can be a great way to simplify that part of things.

The metal that is enclosed by wood or composite material will show a surprising amount of rust. If not properly cared for, even stainless-steel guns can rust.

Before you head out again next fall, make sure the action screws are torqued according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.If your rifle or shotgun has a wood stock, rub it down with a good gunstock wax or Ballistol.

It is not important how you clean your guns. The most important thing is to clean your guns. The market is full of great products for cleaning and lubricating.

Storing The Guns

Once the guns have been cleaned and lubricated, it’s time for them to be stored until our next trip to the range or field.

Let’s consider what NOT to do first.

1. Gun cases and pistol rugs should not be used to store firearms on the bedroom.
2. The lining is quite absorbent, so it will cause your gun to be literally surrounded by moisture from the air.
3. Guns should not be stored in the original box or cardboard. Gun boxes with formed foam cutouts will absorb moisture, just like cardboard. If you intend to take your weapon to a range or sell it at a later date, keep the box somewhere else.
4. Holsters should not be used for storing guns. If you don’t have a safe, store your handguns in a rack made from nylon, leather, or Kydex. It is important that moisture does not surround our guns.

To-Do’s

1. Ensure that the cleaning is thorough before placing the guns in the cheap budget gun safes. Wear gloves or a rag when handling the guns. Make sure the gun or wooden stock does not have oily, salty fingerprints.
2. Make sure your handguns have a place to rest and don’t bang against each other in a rack.
3. In the safe, long guns are kept away from each other so that they do not rub or touch. Keeping rifle muzzles down prevents oils and lubricants from slowly seeping into the stocks.
4. It is probably a good idea for very long storage intervals. If you store your guns this way, make sure they will not fall over and are very secured when stacked.
5. Gun socks are a good option for people with overcrowded safes and fancy wood stocks. Our instruction was to keep everything away from the gun. These socks are made of silicone but do not absorb moisture. It will also prevent dents and bumps to the guns inside the safe as well.
6. Make sure you start getting in the habit of checking your guns and re-lubricating them every two months.

Preparing Your Safe

You can upgrade your storage facility by upgrading your safe since most of us have them for storage.Silica gel beads are an easy way to keep the safe dry by absorbing moisture.

Testing strips are often included in commercial packaging to determine when beads have absorbed all their moisture.In two to three hours, the beads can be dried or recharged in an oven.

What to Look Out For

You should check your guns periodically. It is common for shooters to spend the majority of their time in their safe preparing to go to the range, hunting, or working on their workbench. Keep an eye out for any signs of corrosion or pitting on guns you don’t often use.

If you notice any greenish-blue streaks in the barrel, this is an indicationthat the copper jacket material on the muzzle is corroding. Bore cleaning should be conducted more thoroughly if there is any visible color in it. Make sureto get all of the copper out.

Make sure everything is in a working state by repeating the steps above. Do not have any hanging or sticking up when you have used quality cleaners and lubricants.

First of all, you will need to think about how to move your safe safely and without causing any damage before you move it around your house. I’m going to give you a few tips on how to move a safe depending on what resources you have and how far you need to move it.

If you’d like to attempt to move the safe yourself, it’s not as difficult as you may think. Even a guy like me can usually move an 800lb safe with a good refrigerator dolly. Safes upwards of 2,000 lbs are another beast.

Stairs are a different matter. You have to have a strap – never leave someone underneath the safe. A really easy way the, the easiest way I’ve seen that it’s done is with a tow strap wrapped around the shoulders of two strong guys, and it works pretty easily; it works pretty well.

But the standard way is a refrigerator dolly. I’ve also known people that have moved their safes on golf balls, but they have dented their wooden floors.

I’ve known other people that have rolled their safes on PVC pipe, which works. I’ve known other people that have rolled their safes on PVC pipe, which works safe moving.

Things To Keep In Mind While Moving A Gun Safe

Moving a heavy gun safe with a refrigerator dolly is an efficient option. Have at least two strong people who know how to move heavy objects on hand.

An unsecured safe can cause injuries if it slides downstairs, and you could be crushed. Even though moving a safe may seem difficult, it’s really not.

Another option is to use a towing strap and a couple of strong people. Using the strap, two people physically lift the safe off the ground and carry it to the location where it needs to be.

Moving A 1200-Pound Gun Safe

In this part of the guide, I will show you how professionals move big affordable gun safes from one place to another. For this demonstration, I will be moving a 1200-pound gun safe from one store to another. You will need two or three people for this job.

1. First of all, you will need to remove all shelving to avoid damage during transportation. Plaster or plywood are typically used for gun-safe shelving.
2. Rollers will help you move the safe to a more spacious position outside the niche so that you can wrap it.
3. Add rollers to make this big guy glide on a carpeted floor while you tie it down with heavy-duty tie-downs.
4. As soon as the safe has been moved to its ideal location, protect the handguns gun safe with cardboard, moving pads, and shrink wrap.
5. It will help prevent scratches and damage to the dial, spindles, and finish of the safe.
6. Your gun safe can now be attached with hydraulic tools and rolled onto the moving van. You will need to use a powerful winch to lift the safe.
7. You will need to perform the reverse process for unloading at the destination. Once the gun safe is safely positioned, remove the padding and safely place it where the customer has requested.

Tips For Moving A Gun Safe On Your Own

The bulkiness and weight of a gun safe make moving a gun on your own very challenging. In addition to their fire protection features and military-style locking bars, high-end safes are extremely valuable once they’re in place; however, getting them inside in the first place can be a challenge.

If you do have to move your gun safe nightstand on your own, here are some tips for moving a heavy safe without causing injury or damage to your home or safe.

Preparation Is Key

Getting the right tools and equipment for moving a safe is essential. The most important thing is to have a plan in place.

• First of all, you will need to ensure that you can actually transport the safe through narrow spaces. If doorways or tight areas exist, make sure to measure them before you walk through the house.
• Be sure the staircase is strong enough to carry the safe’s weight.
• During the move, empty your safe of its valuable contents so it will be lighter and less likely to be damaged.
• If you plan to move your safe safely, make sure to have sturdy appliances, dolly, ropes, and thick moving blankets, along with support straps or ropes.
• When renting a safe from an equipment rental company, you will need to know how big and how heavy it is.
• To reduce the risk of slipping while moving the safe, wear shoes with good traction and comfort that fit close to the foot.
• Ensure your hands are protected and provide a good grip on the moving and safe equipment with high-quality work gloves.
• If you want to move your safe to another home or business, make sure you use a vehicle that can handle the weight and size of the safe.

Be sure that the safe is closed and locked before you begin moving it. Protect it with moving blankets to help prevent damage. Ensure the blankets are taped in place, so they don’t fall or cause you to trip.

Carefully and slowly tilt the safe with the help of your friends, then slip the dolly beneath its bottom. Before moving along your pre-planned path, secure the safe to the dolly with ropes or straps. When loading a moving truck with a safe, use the ramp to roll the dolly up.

Position the safe against a side of the truck and securely strap it so it won’t move throughout the trip. You can unload and move your safe safely into its new location, whether it is within your home or elsewhere, by simply reversing your steps.
